Claim

A Biafra agitator on the X platform, @biafra_daily has claimed that Justice Binta Nyako has now admitted that Nnamdi Kanu has no case to answer.

Verdict

This claim is FALSE. After Kanu’s outburst in the court on 10th February 2025, Justice Nyako directed Kanu’s counsel, Aloy Ejimakor, to submit a formal written application if they wished to insist on her withdrawal from the case. She then adjourned the matter indefinitely. There was no time the judge admitted that Kanu had no case to answer.

“I do not recognize this court’s authority over me.

I only honored the hearing notice out of respect for the rule of law. The Chief Judge’s decision to return my case to Justice Nyako is unacceptable”.

On 10th February 2025, Nnamdi Kanu expressed his strong disapproval of appearing before Justice Nyako, insisting that she no longer had jurisdiction over his case.

Regarding this, a Biafran agitator, @biafra_daily claimed that Justice Binta Nyako has now admitted that Nnamdi Kanu has no case to answer.

With an image of the judge, the wrote, “Breaking News:I don’t know why I accepted to be in charge of Nnamdi Kanu case. Nnamdi Kanu has no case to answer, and he knows his rights ~Binta Nyako regrets.

The post garnered over 7.8k and more than 300 likes, according to X analytics.

The leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra is facing seven counts, bordering on treason and terrorism.

Verification

First, there’s no credible video, audio, or written letter from Justice Binta Nyako that can confirm this claim to be true.

Also, there’s no report by any credible news organization in Nigeria to authenticate the claim.

Observation by this FactChecker indicated that the claim lacks critical details such as the date and the medium the Justice used to comment as the claim was poorly written with lots of grammatical errors.

On 14th February 2025, the IPoB leader, in an open letter that was published by the New Telegraph newspaper, outlined a series of alleged legal and procedural violations that he claimed have undermined his fundamental rights and the rule of law in Nigeria.

Conclusion

The claim that Justice Binta Nyako has admitted that Nnamdi Kanu has no case to answer is FALSE as no evidence supports it.
