A credible counter-insurgency news organization, Zagazola, has debunked the reports trending on the arrest of the notorious terrorist Turji Bello by Nigerian troops.

Last week, the Defence Headquarters (DHQ) said troops of Operation Fansan Yamma have killed Aminu Kanawa, the second-in-command to Bello Turji

Turji Bello is a Nigerian terrorist and bandit leader operating in North-western Nigeria, particularly Zamfara, Sokoto and Niger states.

In a post on X on Monday evening, Zagazola stated that the news circulating regarding the alleged arrest of Bello Turji by troops of Operation Fasan Yanma is false.

An X user, @de_generalnoni, had earlier claimed that Turji had been arrested by *The Galant forces of the Nigerian army.

The counter-insurgency medium noted that the purported audio recording, in which two individuals are heard claiming that Bello Turji has been captured, is misleading and lacks any credible basis.

Quoting the Nigerian Defence spokesperson, Zagazola wrote on its X account that General Edward Buba disclosed that the news regarding the arrest of Bello Turji by troops should be treated as fake.

Checks on the X account of Defence Nigeria HQ by FACTWATCH Nigeria showed that no update had been provided on Turji Bello’s whereabouts.
