Since 2021, Biafran armed fighters have taken control over some parts of many local government areas and communities in the Southeast part of Nigeria.

The areas of Orsumoghu, Mbosi, Iseke, and Lilu communities in the Ihiala Local Council in Anambra. In Imo State, Orsu LGA, Ezioha and Ụmụnọha communities in Mbaitolu LGA, Okigwe, are under the control of these terrorists.
