Claim
Social media users published a video clip showing Nigerian President Bola Tinubu speaking alongside the claim that it was about US President Trump’s threat to invade Nigeria over alleged Christian genocide in Nigeria.
Verdict

The claim that this video aligns with the current Nigeria-US Face off is MISLEADING. Findings indicated that this video was from early September this year, when President Tinubu hosted members of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), led by former Nasarawa State governor, Tanko Al-Makura in Aso Villa.

Tension has continued to mount on the Nigerian government after the United States President Trump threatened to deploy military to the country over what he alleged was a continued genocide killing of Christians in Nigeria.
On Friday, 31 October, Trump designated Nigeria as a Country of Particular Concern. The next day, 1 November, he issued a chilling threat to take out the “Islamic Terrorists”, while referring to Nigeria as a “disgraced country ”.
He asks the President Tinubu-led administration to act fast.
In response, the Nigerian government has denied the allegations of Christian genocide in the nation, adding that it does not reflect the realities on the ground.
Nigerians, especially on social media, have reacted to this, with different opinions.
Social media users on Sunday, 2 November, published a video showing President Tinubu speaking about revenue generation and claimed it was his response to the alleged Christian genocide
Part of the clip shows where Tinubu said, “If the non-oil revenue is doing well, then we have no fear of what Trump is doing on the other side”.
The video shared by an X user, @General_Sonto, has garnered over 331k views with 3.4k likes as of Monday, 3 November.
A Facebook page, Politics Nigeria also posted the video.

However, FACTWATCH Nigeria took a screenshot of the video, subjected it to Google Lens, and discovered that this video was from early September this year and was unrelated to the current US-Nigeria face off.
We found out that the video was when President Tinubu hosted members of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), led by former Nasarawa State governor, Tanko Al-Makura, in Aso Villa.
The president said Nigeria is not borrowing locally, attributing it to the increase in non-oil revenue and reforms by his administration, which took over the helm of affairs in May 2023.
You can watch the original video of this here and here.
Conclusion
The claim of Tinubu responding to Trump in a video is misleading as the clip is old and unrelated.
