Introduction
Two popular supporters of the presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress, Peter Akah also known as @Peter4Nigeria and Oruche Precious, popularly known as @MamaPee were invited by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Wednesday, for questioning,
According to one of their associates, Mark Chidiebere Justice, also known as Justice Crack, in a post on his X handle, said the duo reported at the EFCC office at about 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
The engagement lasted several hours, with the individuals eventually released at around 12:00 a.m in Thursday.
They were asked to return to the commission on Thursday,, for further questioning, Justice Crack said.
Claim
Two mugshots of the Obi supporters being paraded by the EFCC over criminal conspiracy and money, were shared by many users on the X platform on Thursday night and early Friday.
The X users claimed that the duo had been detained and were later paraded by the EFCC.
@mamatii∅∅1 posted the EFCC mugshots and wrote, “Lousy online.
Olee (thieves)offline.”
The post generated over 8k views with over a hundred likes.
Another X user, Made In Lagos, published the mugshots on Thursday night with a caption that reads, “RandyPeter and MamaP are cooling off in EFCC detention.
“Obidients and crime 5&6.”

Verification
Speaking in a video posted on Akah’s X handle shortly after they were released from EFCC detention for the second time on Thursday night, the duo said they remained committed to speaking against “poor governance.”
The Obi supporters said they would not be intimidated into silence after completing the second round of questioning by the EFCC over allegations of naira abuse.
The duo said they honoured the first invitation on Wednesday, but it was rescheduled, and so they were released around midnight before returning for further questioning on Thursday.
According to him, they initially believed the invitation was connected to allegations surrounding presidential “fake agency” or other issues but were informed that investigators wanted clarification over allegations of naira abuse.
Checking the mugshots further through an AI detection tool, Zerogpt, showed that they were generated by AI.

Verdict

Findings indicated that the two supporters of Peter Obi were released by the EFCC for the second time on Thursday night.
