Verdict
This claim is MISLEADING. Investigation indicated that this video was from the wedding of Davido’s brother in Dubai in 2020 and not recent.

Afrobeats superstar, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, tied the knot with his wife, Chioma Adeleke, on 10th August, in a lavish white wedding ceremony in Miami, United States
The Miami celebration was a star-studded affair, attended by family, friends, business moguls, political leaders, and top entertainers from Nigeria and beyond.
This occasion marks their third wedding ceremony following their court wedding in March 2023 and a grand traditional wedding in Lagos in June 2024.
Social media users on Facebook and the X platform have shared a video showing Ramon Abbas (known as Hushpuppi) partying with Davido and claimed it was from the musician’s recent wedding in the United States.
They claimed Hushpuppi was released from prison to attend Davido’s wedding.
An X user, @jbrandyofficial posted the video with a caption that reads, “Hushpuppi attends Davido’s wedding in Miami spraying $100 bills 😫
“Money na water 😂
The post generated over one million views with thousands of likes and reposts, according to X analytics.
FACTWATCH Nigeria also cited this video and the claim on a Facebook page named, f o g comedy.
The Facebook page claimed that “Hushpuppi granted a brief release to attend Davido’s Miami wedding 😱
Verifying this claim
However, FACTWATCH Nigeria subjected keyframes from the video posted by the social media users to Google Image Reverse Search and discovered that the video first appeared online in February 2020.
Social media users posted the video in 2020 here and here and stated that it was a wedding occasion of Davido’s brother.
A credible Music website, Boomplay, confirmed further that Flamboyant IG big boy Hushpuppi was among the guests present at Davido’s brother’s wedding. The wealthy individual posted a video that captured the moment he was spraying the bride and groom – Hushpuppi’s followers flooded his comment section to hail him.
It reported that the luxurious wedding ceremony of Adewale Adeleke, chairman of HKN Music and brother of Nigerian singer Davido, to his heartthrob Kani, in Abu Dhabi, capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

In 2022 Hushpuppi was jailed for more than 11 years in the US for his role in an international fraud syndicate.
He was also ordered to pay $1,732,841 (£1,516,182) in restitution to two victims.
The influencer rose to fame flaunting his wealthy lifestyle on his page, which boasted 2.8 million followers.
But it all came crashing down when he was arrested in Dubai in 2020.
As of August 11th, 2025, no reputable news organization in Nigeria or internationally has reported the release of the notorious Nigerian fraudster.
Conclusion
Findings have indicated that the trending video of Hushpuppi Davido together was from 2020 and not recent.
