There’s so much active misinformation and it’s packaged very well and it looks the same when you see it on a Facebook page or you turn on your television. If everything seems to be the same and no distinctions are made, then we won’t know what to believe on social media.
On July 12, People of the rising sun, a Facebook page posted photo of a well structured and beautiful city and claimed it is located in Enugu State, Southeast Nigeria.
The page posted the photo and wrote, “Enugu State in Biafraland is most beautiful and organised State in Nigeria.
The post which attracted over 5k reactions, had different comments.
While some Facebook users believed this claim is true, others said it a city one of the West Africa countrie.
Others opinioned that the photo is AI generated.
Verification
A simple Google image reverse search showed that the photo claimed to be Enugu city, showed that it’s Beach Road, also known as Beach Road is a major roadway in Visakhapatnam.
Visakhapatnam also known as Vizag, Viśākha or Waltair, is the largest and most populous metropolitan city in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is between the Eastern Ghats and the coast of the Bay of Bengal.
It is the second largest city on the east coast of India after Chennai, and the fourth largest in South India. It is one of the four smart cities of Andhra Pradesh selected under the Smart Cities Mission and is the headquarters of Visakhapatnam district.
With an estimated output of $43.5 billion, it is the ninth largest contributor to India’s gross domestic product as of 2016.
