As World leaders continue to react over United States President Joe Biden’s decision to end his faltering re-election campaign after weeks of pressure driven by concerns over his age and fitness.
There has been trending comments in which the Cameron president, Paul Biya expressed shock over the age of the present US leader, Joe Biden.
Paul Biya is a 91 year old Cameroun president who has ruled the country for over 42.
Latest reports stated that President Biya is planning to seek his seventh term in the office.
The trending comment which is attributed to Paul Biya reads, “91 year old Cameroon President Paul Biya (who has been in power for 42years) expresses shock at Biden resignation and wonders why the young 81 year old vibrant American President is dropping out of the presidential race at such a tender age.
This comment has shared on Facebook, X and on many WhatsApp groups.
Verification
First, a simple Google search indicated that a blog The New Diplomat reported this news first, few days ago.
In the list of world leaders’ reaction to Biden’s resignation from the presidential race by Al Jazeera, the Cameroun president, Paul Biya’ statement was no where to found there.
No reputable news organization in Cameroun reported this, after thorough search.
